Visiting Dallas is a great way to spend your vacation or
for a weekend get-away. The state of Texas is amazing in
its own right but tourists have proven that Dallas is the
most visited city in Texas. Dallas is situated on the
Trinity River and has many creeks and small tributaries
that branch off into the city. You can take a walk along
the Trinity and enjoy the many trees that line the path,
including oak trees, cottonwood trees, and pecan trees.

Dallas is a financial and business hub for the southwest
United States. Dallas claims to be one of the busiest
convention cities in the States, with a variety of hotels to
fit everyone's budget. The downtown core boasts several
luxury hotels with easy access to the Dallas convention
center. For those interested in hotels away from the hustle
and bustle of downtown, there are a number of elegant hotels
in the suburbs or near the airport.

Although Dallas is the center of Texas commerce, it's not
lacking in cultural events. The city boasts a number of
excellent museums and art galleries. One of the most popular
museums is the African American Museum located near Fair
Park. The museum houses an intriguing and varied exhibits
and displays, with a huge collection of African folk art as
well as contemporary art. The museum offers a unique
perspective and an increased understanding of African
American heritage and culture.

If you've brought your children, be sure to take them to
visit the Dallas Children's Museum. It will be a great
hands-on experience in various real- life scenarios. They
feature a farm, hospital, grocery store and firehouse. When
you are through playing, you can show them some other
cultural displays before you return to the city.

No trip to Dallas would be complete without a little
shopping. Dallas is home to a variety of boutiques and even
some second-hand shops that sell the wares of top- rated
designers such as Armani, Donna Karan, and Emanuael. Dallas
is also home to many a sports enthusiast - with professional
basketball, baseball, football and hockey. Or, if you want
to participate in sports, you'll find lots of challenging
golf courses. After 18-holes of golf, you can retire to one
of the many fine Dallas restaurants.

No matter what time of the year that you visit Dallas you
will find something to do and keep you busy. The
interesting combination of city life and southwestern charm
will keep you coming back for many more visits.
